Peer Review Process
Standard Peer Review
JECDS: Journal of Electrical, Control, and Data Science maintains rigorous peer review standards while ensuring an efficient, transparent, and fair editorial process.
Key Principles
- Double-blind review: identities of authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.
- Editorial independence: the Editor-in-Chief makes publication decisions based on reviewers’ reports, scientific merit, and journal policies.
- Qualified reviewers: at least two subject-matter experts are invited for each manuscript; additional reviewers may be appointed when necessary.
- Confidentiality: all manuscripts, reviews, and editorial communications are treated as confidential.
- Ethics & integrity: submissions undergo similarity checks and ethical evaluation in accordance with COPE-aligned best practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Editor-in-Chief: holds final authority over editorial decisions (accept, revise, or reject) based on reviewer input and journal standards.
- Editorial Board: provides strategic guidance, recommends reviewers, and supports subject-specific editorial decisions.
- Managing Editor & Assistants: oversee manuscript tracking, correspondence, and adherence to review timelines.
- Reviewers: deliver objective, technically sound, and constructive evaluations; disclose any conflicts of interest.
Review Workflow
- Submission & Compliance Check: verification of scope alignment, formatting, similarity index, and ethical compliance.
- Editorial Screening: initial assessment of originality, technical quality, and methodological soundness (desk review or rejection).
- Reviewer Assignment: selection of at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind scheme.
- Peer Review: evaluation of contribution, technical rigor, methodology, analysis, references, and clarity.
- Editorial Decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
- Revision Cycle: authors submit point-by-point responses; revised manuscripts may undergo additional review rounds.
- Final Checks & Production: final acceptance, metadata validation, copyediting, and proofing prior to online publication.
Referred / Transferred Manuscripts
For manuscripts referred from partner journals, JECDS editors may consider existing reviewer reports and request additional reviews when required before reaching an editorial decision.
Conflicts of Interest & Confidentiality
Editors and reviewers are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and must recuse themselves when appropriate. Unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts must not be used for personal research or disclosed outside the editorial process.
