Korelasi Antara Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) dan Tingkat Compulsive Internet Use (CIU) pada Dewasa Muda

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara fear of missing out dengan compulsive internet use pada dewasa muda. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain survei korelasional berbasis cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 195 dewasa muda berusia 18–25 tahun yang aktif menggunakan internet, diperoleh melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner online yang terdiri atas data demografi, skala fear of missing out, dan skala compulsive internet use. Analisis data meliputi analisis univariat untuk menggambarkan karakteristik responden dan analisis bivariat menggunakan korelasi Pearson untuk mengetahui hubungan antara fear of missing out dan compulsive internet use. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang sangat kuat dan signifikan antara fear of missing out dan compulsive internet use dengan koefisien korelasi Pearson sebesar 0,903 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat fear of missing out, semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan perilaku penggunaan internet secara kompulsif pada dewasa muda.
