Peer Review Process

Standard Peer Review

Journal of Education Psychology and Social Development (JEPSI) maintains rigorous peer review standards while ensuring an efficient and fair editorial process.

Key Principles

  • Double-blind review: identities of authors and reviewers are concealed during the review process.
  • Editorial independence: the Editor-in-Chief makes publication decisions based on reviewers’ reports and journal policies.
  • Qualified reviewers: at least two experts are invited for each manuscript; additional reviews may be requested when needed.
  • Confidentiality: all submissions and reviews are treated as confidential materials.
  • Ethics & integrity: all submissions undergo similarity checks; ethical concerns are handled according to COPE-aligned best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Editor-in-Chief: final decision maker (accept, revise, reject) guided by reviewer feedback and journal policies.
  • Editorial Board: advises on policy, recommends reviewers, and assists on subject-specific decisions.
  • Managing Editor & Assistants: coordinate correspondence, manage timelines, and ensure process integrity.
  • Reviewers: provide objective, evidence-based evaluations and constructive comments; disclose conflicts of interest.

Review Workflow

  1. Submission & Compliance Check: scope, formatting, plagiarism/similarity, and ethics compliance are verified.
  2. Editorial Screening: the Editor assesses fit, originality, and basic methodological soundness (desk accept/review/reject).
  3. Reviewer Assignment: at least two competent, independent reviewers are invited (double-blind).
  4. Peer Review: reviewers evaluate contribution, methods, analysis, references, and clarity; provide recommendations.
  5. Editorial Decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
  6. Revision Cycle: authors respond point-by-point; revised versions may be re-reviewed as needed.
  7. Final Checks & Production: acceptance confirmation, metadata, copyediting, and proofing prior to online publication.

Referred/Transferred Manuscripts

For manuscripts referred from partner journals, JEPSI editors may use existing reviews and request additional reviews when necessary before making an editorial decision.

Conflicts of Interest & Confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must declare any competing interests and recuse themselves when appropriate. Unpublished material from submissions must not be used for personal research or shared outside the editorial process.
