Author Guidelines

These guidelines apply to all submissions to the Journal of Education Psychology and Social Development (JEPSI). Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts comply with the journal’s format, ethical standards, and reporting requirements.

1) Manuscript Types

  • Original Research Article
  • Systematic Review / Narrative Review
  • Short Communication
  • Case Report (with ethics/consent statements)
  • Conceptual / Methodological Paper

2) Submission Package

Submit the following files (separate documents):

  1. Main Manuscript (anonymized for double-blind review; no author-identifying information).
  2. Similarity Report (Turnitin or equivalent; similarity index ≤ 20%).
  3. Supplementary Materials (datasets, instruments, checklists as applicable).

3) Formatting

Abbreviations Define at first mention and in a list of abbreviations (if many)

4) Manuscript Structure (IMRaD)

  1. Title
  2. Abstract (structured)
  3. Keywords
  4. Introduction (background, problem statement, objectives)
  5. Methods (design, setting, participants, instruments, procedures, ethics approval & consent, data analysis, reporting guideline used—e.g., CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA)
  6. Results (text, tables, figures; report effect sizes and CIs where relevant)
  7. Discussion (key findings, comparison to literature, implications, strengths/limitations)
  8. Conclusion (concise; recommendations if applicable)
  9. References

5) Reporting & Ethics

  • Human studies: comply with the Declaration of Helsinki; include ethics committee name and approval number; describe informed consent procedures.
  • Clinical trials: follow CONSORT; include trial registration.
  • Observational studies: follow STROBE.
  • Systematic reviews: follow PRISMA; provide protocol/registration if available.
  • Animal studies: comply with institutional/national guidelines; include efforts to reduce suffering and animal numbers.
  • Plagiarism: similarity ≤ 20%; redundant/salami publication prohibited.

6) References

  • Use Vancouver style (numbered in-text citations in square brackets).
  • Minimum 25 references; ≥80% from recent peer-reviewed journal articles (last 10 years where feasible).
  • Ensure DOI/URLs where available; verify all bibliographic details.

7) Tables and Figures

  • Reference each table/figure in the text.
  • Provide editable tables in the manuscript file; do not embed as images.
  • Submit figures separately in high resolution; ensure permissions for any third-party material.

8) Peer Review & Editorial Decisions

The journal implements a double-blind peer review. Typical decisions include: accept; minor revision; major revision; reject. Authors must respond to each reviewer comment point-by-point and highlight revisions in the manuscript.

9) Authorship & Contributions

  • Authorship should reflect substantial contributions (conception/design; data acquisition; analysis/interpretation; drafting or revising critically; final approval; accountability).
  • Provide a CRediT contribution statement for each author.
  • Changes to authorship after submission require written approval from all authors.

10) Post-Acceptance

  • Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofing.
  • Authors must check proofs carefully and return corrections within the specified timeframe.

11) Compliance Checklist (Before Submission)

  • Main manuscript anonymized for double-blind review
  • Structured abstract (150–250 words) and 3–5 keywords
  • Ethics approval and consent statements (if applicable)
  • Turnitin (or equivalent) similarity ≤ 20%
  • References in Vancouver style, with DOIs/URLs where available
  • Figures (≥300 dpi) and editable tables provided correctly
  • Cover letter, Title page, and required declarations included
